MAINTENANCE PLAN – Interior & Exterior

This plan will assist you in keeping your vehicle’s Interior, Exterior in showroom condition. Ensure that you understand the terms and conditions of your Maintenance plan

1. OVERVIEW OF OUR SERVICE:

Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty)Ltd Interior, Exterior Maintenance Plan is an agreement between Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty)Ltd (us) and the client listed on the maintenance certificate (you).

The Maintenance Plan option includes Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty) Ltd products: Interior, Exterior Maintenance plan.

Based on Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty)Ltd product you have selected; we will maintain and restore your vehicle (for an agreed period) from damages that result from everyday wear and tear in return for a fee.

Only the vehicle listed on the maintenance certificate has access to the selected maintenance and restoration services supplied by our list of agents.

Key features of the Maintenance Plan

• We will maintain your vehicle against everyday wear and tear.
• A maintenance repair is limited to a monetary value of R4 000.00.
• There are no additional fees payable if the maintenance falls within the R4 000.00 limit.
• All work carries a 3-year guarantee.
• Our service extends to minor body maintenance only.
• Cosmetic Rim Repair R 4000 per annum.

2. Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty) Ltd: PRODUCT OPTIONS

2.1 Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty)Ltd– INTERIOR EXERIOR PLAN

Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty)Ltd- Interior Exterior maintains and restores the damaged exterior bodywork and interior furnishings of your vehicle from everyday wear and tear.

Exterior & Interior Maintenance Guidelines service – Maximum value is R4 000 (Incl. Vat) per claim.

• Minor Dents – A dented area on the vehicle up to a maximum of 30mm in diameter and can be restored by Paint less Dent Removal technique
• Minor Scratches – A scratched area on the vehicle where the scratch is up to a maximum of 15cm in length.
• Rims, Mag wheels and Hubcaps – That has a cosmetic repairable damage limited to R4000 per annum. (excluding bent, buckle rims)
• Tar Spots Removal – Remove and restore R4 000.00 per service value
• Stone Chips – An area which can be filled and sealed to prevent corrosion. (The damage will remain slightly visible). Not exceeding 5cm diameter
• Centre Console – Scratch, scuff or peeling of the rubber less than 75mm and less than 1mm deep
• Dashboard – Scuff or scratch shorter than 75mm and less than 1mm deep. We will paint the dashboard when faded and if markings are less than 60mm (The windscreen must be removed at owner’s risk and expense)
• Door Handles – Restore plastic handles that are scratched and scuffed
• Door Panel Plastic – Restore and re-spray scratches or scuffs shorter than75mm and less than 1mm deep
• Gear Lever Boot – Replace if torn or ripped, and where damage is shorter than 50mm
• Gear Knob – Only covers for faded paint
• Handbrake Boot – Restore torn or ripped where damage is less than 50mm
• Parcel Shelf – Repair or recover damaged shelf only
• Rubber Carpet Inserts – Recover rubber heel mat on driver’s side.
• Roof Lining – Limited to one maintenance or restoration, excluding convertibles, sunroofs and bow linings per plan
• Seat Panel – Tears less than 50mm and burn holes not exceeding 10mm
• Seat Stitch – For seat stitching less than 75mm
• Side Panel stitching, excluding Airbag – Side panel can be replaced, or stitching can be redone, exclude faulty airbags
• Steering Wheel Re-spray – Respraying leather steering wheels * Excludes Recovering*
• Windscreen chip repair R4000 per annum
• Headlights restoration – 1 claim per 12-month period.
• Hail damages – 1 claim per 12 month period.
Exterior maintenance to roof, bonnet and boot:
The roofs, bonnet and boot will be Weatherproofed and disguised, but damage will remain slightly visible. We cannot restore the damaged area back to its original condition but a paint touch-in will protect the area from further damage or corrosion. We apply this technique to a chip or a scratch.

3. HOW TO REQUEST A MAINTENANCE CALL

1. Ensure the damaged area falls within the guidelines of your chosen maintenance plan.
2. Have your documentation on hand and contact The Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty)Ltd.
3. You may be requested to send photos regarding your required maintenance.
4. Once the Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty) Ltd has processed the maintenance request, you will receive an E- mail confirming the repair.
5. On approval, McCarthy’s Auto Trimmers (Pty) ltd call centre will contact you to arrange the maintenance date. You will receive a confirmation prior to the maintenance call. Should this time no longer be convenient, it will be your responsibility to reschedule. If a Mobile Unit is accessible in your area, we will attend to your vehicle at a location of your choice. If a Mobile Unit is not accessible to you, we will attend to your vehicle at one of our nationwide body maintenance shops.

Service request rules

1. You can’t accumulate small damages and the service value per visit is limited.
2. We Will take all damages into account to calculate the cost of the maintenance.
3. Existing restorations cannot be carried over to a next maintenance request. If you do not restore all the existing damage, we will reject the same damage in following requests.
4. Only maintenance listed in the guidelines will be performed.
5. All claims must be per incident (as it occurs claim must be submitted)
6. upon each claim we will assess your vehicle any damages found in this assessment other than what was claimed for would not be covered under this maintenance plan.

4. MAINTENANCE LIMIT

We will absorb the cost of up to R4 000 (Incl. Vat) per incident to service the vehicle. Maintenance work in excess of the limit is usually not minor maintenance and should be covered under a comprehensive motor insurance policy. McCarthy Auto Trimmers are the only authorized repairer for your maintenance plan if a mobile unit is not in a specific area/region PRTUMA would allocate a specific repairer for your claim.

5. MAINTENANCE PERIOD This maintenance plan is valid for the period of 24,36,48 or 60 months as stated in your maintenance certificate. You could renew the Maintenance plan if you paid our fee for the following period.

6. PAYMENT OF FEES You must pay the Maintenance plan fee before the start date of this Maintenance plan.

7.WHAT MAINTENANCE IS NOT INCLUDED?

• Parts or damages if not listed under the Maintenance Guideline of your selected Paint Rim and Trim Underwriting Managers and Administrators (Pty) Ltd Product.
• Requests that fall outside the period of this Maintenance plan.
• Vehicles not listed in the maintenance certificate.
• Replace a body panel or part of it.
• When a body panel has been ripped, torn, perforated or damaged to the structure or alignment of the panel.
• Accessories, door mouldings, window mouldings, beadings, lamps of any sort or window panels.
• locks.
• plastic handles on the interior of the vehicle.
• car radios, sound equipment or car telephones.
• tyres.
• stickers.
• damage caused by rust or corrosion.
• All pre-existing damages will not be covered under this maintenance plan

We are not responsible for:

• depreciation in value arising from maintenance.
• maintenance to vehicles which carry trade goods for commercial purposes.
• services outside the Republic of South Africa.

8. CANCELLATION

Cancellation

You or we may cancel this Maintenance Plan any time by giving 30 days’ notice in writing, either by post or via electronic media in the form of an email to the last known address.
Maintenance Plan terminate with stolen or write off vehicle
If the vehicle indicated in this Maintenance Plan is stolen or damaged beyond repair, the Maintenance Plan will terminate on the date of such incident.
Transferring the Plan if you sell the vehicle
If you sell the vehicle, the remaining part of this Plan is non-transferable and cannot be transferred to the new owner.
Refund of fees on cancellation or termination
You will be entitled to a pro-rata refund for the remaining period of this Maintenance plan, less all incurred costs mentioned below (inclusive of VAT) provided you have not claimed on this plan. The refund is payable to you if paid cash or to finance house if the plan was financed.
All costs incurred, including commissions, underwriting fees and binder fees will be deducted if a refund is due. The balance will be refunded on a pro-rata basis and payment will be processed within 30 days of the cancellation request date

9. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

It is your responsibility to obey the rules under this Maintenance plan so that we can maintain and restore your vehicle as promised

10. IMPORTANT TERMS

You/ your means the client listed on the maintenance certificate. Maintenance certificate means – the document that lists your personal details, vehicle details, fee payable and the maintenance period.
